Anybody in Doha messing with the 1/14 or 1/16 scale R/C semi trucks? I've started collecting the 1/14 scale trucks, up to 2 so far.

One of the trucks showed up in tha mail today (Tamiya Ford Aeromax), still have to build it but will post pics as soon as I get home. The other tractor (Tamiya King Hauler) should be here in a few days. The trailers are being custom built in the U.S. (a 53' Dry Van and a 40' Flatbed with spread axles), don't really care for the trailers that Tamiya offers for their American style tractors.

This is the Ford Aeromax from Tamiya, it will be pulling a 53' dry van tandem axle trailer.

This is what the 53' dry van trailer will look like when it's finished, it is being custom made in the U.S.

The King Hauler finally came in the mail. Will probably build this one first since it has a chrome cab and doesn't require painting. This one is getting the aluminum flatbed, should look nice with all the silver.

I haven't really seen much for Tamiya in Doha, the hobby shop in the City Center mall used to have some. They had one of the semi trucks in there assembled with a trailer and they wanted a rediculous amount of money for it.

Ok, I told a lie, going to start the Aeromax first, couldn't help breaking out the modeling tools and getting to work. Here's the cab components with a base coat of white acrylic spray (garbage from Carrefour, what would they do here with quality paint?).

Started with the chassis next, here's the front end with the stearing and shift servo's installed. The frame rails are made out of aluminum...nice.
