Hi all

I am very happyo to have found this forum today!!.

I am an Englishman who has just moved to Doha from Malaysia and i have been looking for fellow heli flyers for the last 2 months!!

I currently fly a Trex 450 SEV1 that sometimes resides inside an A109 Fueselage but is currently back in pod and boom configuration.

I also fly a Gaui Hurricane 550 that has a Head Hunter frame upgrade and is also Flybarless with an SK360. I designed and built the Head Hunter frames my self and have been selling a few of them online through Helifreak.com

Mind you i still only fly like a granny! I have only just started to get used to nose in flying still cant do proper circuits or anytype of aerobatics!!

So where do you guys fly most often? is it Al-Khor or Al-Wakrah?
When is the most popular time to fly?
Which are the most popular heli's being flown around here?

I understand that i need a License from the QSC how do i go about getting this license and how much does it cost? What paper work do i need to bring with me?

Im looking forwrad to meeting you guys soon I am getting heli flying withdrawal symptoms!!

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben -

Welcome to RCQatar.

Your questions have been answered elsewhere, but I will quickly summarize them here again.

Al-Khor flying is Thursday afternoon, Friday morning and afternoon and Saturday afternoon. Wakra (which is unofficial) is Friday morning (and Saturday afternoon most weeks). These are the common times, but people make plans with friends and fly during other times too.

All you need is the Qatar ID and a recent photograph to get your QSC card, and I believe the cost per year is QR200.

Most people fly the Align ones.  Raptors are also common.

Thats great thanks for the reply

I will post again closer to next weekend to try and meet up with some people in Wakra friday or saturday. Im not sure i could find the Al-Khor site!

Can you roughly estimate how many Heli flyers there are in Doha?
Im just curious, trying to get an idea of the size of the scene.

Im gonna try and hit the hobby shops in the next couple of days

Thanks again i will look forward to meeting you someday soon.

Cheers

Ben
