Hi Guys!

I am newbie with RC Heli's (0 knowledge). I had experienced flying a RC heli from carefour...hehe.

Any suggestions? Where should I begin? What type of RC heli should I buy? Sorry for the questions as I had said newbie  Grin

Thanks.

You should get at least a 450 size heli, like the Trex 450 or something like that.  A bigger heli is more stable and it helps with the learning process.  The downside is that you pay a lot more in terms of parts costs, if you crash (which is almost inevitable when you are starting).

Thanks for the reply Anwar.

I will visit the store in city center, I hope they have Trex 450 in there. I read about this Flymentor 3D stabilization system is this gonna help me in learning without causing catastrophic damage?  Grin

Thanks.

Flymentor helps to some degree, but what would really help you is to get a good flight simulator and train yourself well using it.

If you are looking for a cheap indoor model with 4 channel control to start with, you can check out the E-Sky helicopters at Pro-Hobbies near vegitable market.

I'm planning to get a GAUI X5 to start up again with this hobby.
Im wondering how do i order one coz most of the  sites ask for pincode and i dont really seem to find a pincode...  any advice would be of great help .

Make sure you find out the procedure of importing a heli into the country. When we bring in planes we need to be members of the Qatar Scientific club and need a clearance letter from them before the customs will release the goods to us. I am not sure about the procedure for Heli but I heard it is slightly different.

The other option is to buy from the shops here.

Sorry can't help you there as I tried Heli's and just did not have the skills for it. I suggest that you contact one of the hobby shops or ask The Club itself for more details. Other Heli flyer's here may be able to help you.

Hi,

I fly helis here.  Imported mine as part of a container and it never got checked - but I had already spoken to QSC, joined, and had the letter from them.  Same process as for aeroplanes.

I've imported some stuff ordered from shops too - some gets through no checking some gets checked and you need a letter from QSC for each specific import.

Stores that deliver are hobbyking, Midland Helicopters, and I think Fastlad Performance

Cheers,
Stu

Anything that I buy from the US I use shop and ship to bring it in. Once the package reaches Aramex, I get the letter from QSC and drop it off at Aramex. That way when they clear customs, they already have the letter and it saves time. Just be careful if you bringing in any FPV gear. Customs always ask if there is a camera built in.

Some shops don't send to US address for overseas credit card even through paypal. So search on amazon or ebay. Prefer ebay as some shops have free shipping to Aramex

We just use the post box number as the PIN / ZIP code for online orders.
