Many people have been flying at a location between Wakrah and Mesaieed (mostly because the new Al-Khor field is too far, and the last couple of kilometers of road really sucks!). If you are going from Doha, go past the Al-Saleen Petrol Station, take the next available PROPER U turn (there is an "emergency vehicles only" U-turn, do NOT take that one), and drive back for about 400 meters. Then turn right (there is a small board identifying the fully paved but small road as "CP-14"). Go about half a kilometer, and just before the road ends at the QatarCo yard (large walled compound which is currently the scrapyard for crashed cars), turn right again into the desert (right where the car scrapyard starts). Drive for about a kilometer through the unpaved tracks, and you are at the field. Here is an annotated map. Lots of action on Friday mornings. Most likely some action on Saturday afternoons. Sporadic on other days and evenings.

How about Flying every Sat at about 430PM on top of the Fri AM session? It a change of routine due to the hot weather and the evening cools down a fair bit.
Let your friends know!!!

Yes, there were about 4 people flying planes and helis this morning (6:15am to 9am).
What happened is that due to the falcon flying season being active, people have moved their RC flying about 2 kilometers deeper on the same stretch of road, away from the falcon folks.
Please contact me via PM for details, in case you want to go again another time.

Hi, really glad to see a place to fly that is closer than Al Khor. How does one join this club? The cooler months are closing in and I have to get out and fly, been in Doha almost 3 years and all I've flown is an indoor heli (it's killing me). I'm a very accomplished pilot and builder (flying 24 years) with airplanes, but am trying to balance that out with helicopters. Any plans on putting in a paved runway in the future?

assallam o alekum. Mr.Anwar, hope u r good by the grace of Allah.Im Safwan basically from Pakistan but living here in Qatar since my birth,I am a kind of nuts about rc flying as well as building from scratch, specially nitro powered models.I have been flying in al khor airfield all the time and previouly when QSC members used to fly in the field in simaisma. When i heard about al wakra field,i was excited that i can have a place to fly which is not so far n can go easily,so one day i headed towards it at around 2:30pm,i need to know, did i reach the correct place or what?cuz according to the map u posted here i went there accordingly,i reached Qatarco. Yard, where, there are a lot of scrap cars, from there i took right turn n entered into a desert area n even travelled too far,i didn't see anything or any sign indicating that u can fly here, neither, there were any people. So can u please let me know that exactly where that field is located or do u think that, what i told u,do i was following the correct path?I will wait for your reply and as friday is the only day, when i have time to fly.anyways hope to see u in person too and will be very thankful for ur information u will provide me. Take care Bye Ma'salama
