Yesterday (Jun 5, 2009), there was a small compeition at the Al Khor RC field.  Unfortunately, it was not well advertised and only people constantly in touch with either the hobby shops of regular fliers there knew about it. I got a last minute notice, something like "people having a small get together and fun competition".

It turned out to be quite significant !  One heli kit, and about 10 airplane kits (some with engines and servos) were given away as prizes.

The competition was to make as many passes between two poles, under a ribbon, in 5 minutes. 

And the biggest fun/surprise was when one of the RC fliers flew in with a powered wing glider !

It was a nice piece of equipment, and it was a lot of fun to see the pilot cut the engine off, make a turn and land with a lot of grace
